We have developed a new kind of multifunctional nanoprobes; 68Ga core-doped nanoparticles. This new kind of material provides simultaneous PET and positive MRI signal.


In the last years our research has focused in the synthesis and application of iron oxide nanoparticles for T1, positive, signal in MRI.


Nanomaterials bioconjugation.

We are interested in the development of new bioconjugation strategies for the synthesis of multifunctional tracers. The aim is to obtain bioactive nanoparticles with a well-defined surface composition

Nanomaterials – biomolecules interaction

In vivo protein-nanomaterial interaction is key to understand the biological fate of newly designed probes. We study that interaction and, by a careful surface functionalisation, we tune the type of proteins adsorbed on our probes to achieved our biological targets.
